2630 Divisadero Street

San Francisco, Historic Resource Evaluation [HRE] (2017)

Built in 1938 in a Renaissance Revival style of architecture, the home at 2630 Divisadero Street in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood would be renovated and expanded by its current owners. Brewster Historic Preservation was hired by William Duff Architects on behalf of the homeowner to prepare a HRE report to assist the San Francisco Planning Department in determining the home’s potential historic significance through the application of the California Register of Historic Resources (CRHR) criteria 1-4, including an assessment of integrity. The historic context of the Pacific Heights neighborhood was summarized from existing HREs recently prepared in the immediate area. The architectural character of the buildings on the project block, and those that face the subject property on the opposite block, were also reviewed to assist Planning to determine whether the subject property would be a contributor to a potential historic district. Brewster Historic Preservation recommended that the home did not meet the criteria for listing in the CRHR, nor was it a contributor to a potential historic district.

Work on this HRE was begun in mid-April 2017 and was completed by early May 2017
